On 8 November 2021, Civic Tech announced the launching of a new tool "Ignite Pass". This tool is designed to filter out bots by obliging buyers to complete aliveness verification (pre-approval) to make NFT purchases.
For verification, Civic's website records whether or not the users take a video selfie. Civic uses an Ignite Pass for the verification process. The Ignite pass will be active for 24 hours to "limit the options of baleful botters conforming multiple wallets."
The Ignite Pass is a free version of know-your-customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance tools, Civic Pass. These tools are delineated for decentralized finance (Defi) platforms, NFT marketplaces, and public blockchains.
