On Oct. 29, AMC Entertainment CEO Adam Aron set up a poll on his Twitter account, asking if the company should accept "the Dogecoin killer."
Aron ran a similar poll in September asking followers whether he should add Dogecoin as a payment method, attracting the attention of none other than Tesla boss Elon Musk. A month later, the theatre chain executive announced that the meme coin will be added in early 2022.
Similar to Dogecoin, Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash are also going to be added as new payment methods by the end of the year. A team of IT specialists is currently working on this, as pointed in the aforementioned tweet.
So far, Shiba Inu has been witnessing impressive gains and currently hovering around $0.007491, and has overtaken rival DOGE as the latest profit-making meme coin. As a result, SHIB’s market cap has jumped above leading digital assets, including Chainlink (LINK), Litecoin (LTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
The overall market sentiment around SHIB has been positive since the beginning of this year and has remained the best-performing digital asset among the top 20 during the first 9 months of 2021. While retail interest has mainly driven the latest SHIB rally, some of the leading institutional investors have also started considering Shiba Inu in their portfolio.
