The Spanish subsidiary of Crypto exchange Binance, Moon Tech Spain has secured registration as a Virtual Asset Services Provider (VASP) from the country’s central bank, the Bank of Spain.

According to an official announcement from today, the registration will allow Binance to offer crypto exchange and custody services in Spain in compliance with the requirements of its central bank's anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CTF) rules.

This marks the third registration that <a href="https://www.binance.com/en" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Binance</a> has received in Europe, following those in France and Italy in recent months.

<a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/news/binance-ceo-changpeng-zhao-holds-same-amount-of-bnb-and-btc/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Changpeng Zhao</a>, the CEO of Binance argued that "effective regulation" is vital for the progress and widespread adoption of the cryptocurrency sector. He also said his company had invested a considerable amount of funds in creating a safe environment for its customers.
<blockquote><em>"MoonTech's registration in Spain is an acknowledgment of the hard work and commitment of our teams to providing a platform that places users' protection above all else,"</em> Zhao added.</blockquote>
Quim Giralt, Director of Binance Spain assumed that the license will allow the exchange to expand its team and operations in that region:
<blockquote><em>"Following this registration, we will significantly expand our team and operations in Spain to make our services more accessible to everyone. Over the coming years, we will be hiring local talent to serve the Spanish-speaking market and helping to grow the local crypto ecosystem."</em></blockquote>
