Dormant Bitcoin Wallet Activates After 8.3 Years

On March 7, 2022, Whale Alert reported that a Bitcoin wallet last active in 2013 has come back online. The Bitcoin wallet contained 407 BTC i.e., $15.5 Million.

At the beginning of 2013, the price of Bitcoin (BTC) was $13 which then peaked at $1,100 in November and December. The total number of coins in the Bitcoin wallet was initially worth $355,254.

Currently, the value of Bitcoin is trading at approximately $38,000 on major crypto exchanges. Over the past few years, there have been several similar cases of dormant Bitcoin wallets coming online.

Addresses dating back to 2011 have garnered a lot of attention from the public. As crypto enthusiasts usually believe that such dormant addresses that have been eleven years also could be possibly linked to Satoshi Nakamoto.
