FTX and Everstake to Launch Crypto Donation Website for Ukraine

Ukrainian FTX
Cryptocurrency exchanges FTX and Kuna, as well as the staking platform Everstake, have teamed up with the Ukrainian government to develop a crypto donation website called Aid for Ukraine. Currently, donations to the platform can be made in BTC, ETH, USDT, DOT, SOL, DOGE, XMR, ICON, EOS, and NEO respectively.

According to the website, users have sent more than $48 million in crypto at the time of writing, approximately 24% of the platform’s $200 million goal. Other estimates place the amount closer to $100 million, but totals vary based on market swings.

FTX is converting donations into fiat for deposit at the National Bank of Ukraine, while Everstake’s involvement allows more cryptocurrencies to be accepted by the website.

"At the onset of the conflict in Ukraine, FTX felt the need to provide assistance in any way it could. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with Sergey and the Everstake team as they continue to work tirelessly in helping Ukrainians as they suffer from this conflict," Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder and CEO of FTX commented.

The funds will be sent to the National Bank of Ukraine and used for “ammunition and necessities” to support the country’s armed forces and humanitarian aid programs. Fiat donations to Ukraine’s central bank in various currencies are also accepted.
