On Monday, GameStop announced the launch of its new digital asset wallet, which will allow gamers to store, send, receive and crypto and NFTs across without having to leave their web browsers. A beta version of the self-custodial Ethereum wallet is available to download from GameStop's website.
GameStop said the wallet extension will also enable transactions on the company's NFT marketplace, which is expected to launch in GameStop's fiscal second quarter.
GameStop's self-custodial wallet was in its beta stage, running on the Ethereum blockchain. The wallet will enable transactions on the NFT marketplace that it's aiming to launch in the second quarter of 2022.
According to the wallet's website, the wallet will also be available to use with iPhones. The wallet will operate similarly to MetaMask, and users can migrate their MetaMask wallet to their GameStop wallet.
The wallet will run on Ethereum’s Loopring layer-2 scaling protocol designed for decentralized exchanges, which boasts of high throughput, low-cost trading, and payment capability.
