The Great Firewall of China has reportedly blocked a number of websites related to cryptos such as Coingecko, Coinmarketcap, and Tradingview.
Well, this is not the first time China has taken such a step as the world is aware of the fact that the country is really fond of banning websites and censoring the internet via the amalgamation of legal actions and technologies.
The Chinese residents were not able to access a lot of international web domains due to the forces deployed by the CAC (Cyberspace Administration of China), along with the assistance from the Golden Shield Project and SIIO.
In addition to this, it should be noted that the residents of mainland China are not able to access informational websites like Wikipedia, Facebook, Google, and Twitter.
The end of the month of September marked the beginning of the latest crypto crackdown in China by Chinese authorities as the People’s Bank of China restated that mainland China users accessing offshore crypto exchanges is an illegal misdemeanor.
Moreover, the announcement led to a bloodbath in the crypto market and the actions of the People’s Bank of China sparked major on-chain dealings and OTC trades.
Though the residents of mainland China will be able to access the blocked websites with the use of a Virtual Pin Network, greatfire.org, the website analyzer, has an alternate website analyzer named BLOCKY, that has the potential to check for websites blocked by GFW as well.
