Heroic Story, a Web3 game platform, reported on November 17 that it had secured $6 million in a seed round headed by Upfront Ventures with Multicoin Capital and Polygon Technology. According to the firm, the money will be used to employ staff, promote the online beta, and create on-chain technologies for a multiplayer online role-playing game (RPG) setting. The investment raises Heroic Story's total funding to $7.4 million.

Along with Wolfgang Hammer, the president of cinema at Miramax, and Ryan and Kaz Firpo, cousins and co-writers of Marvel's Eternals, other backers included strategic angels like a16z Games Fund One founder Jonathan Lai, Team Liquid CEO Steve Arhancet, and Quantstamp CEO Richard Ma.

According to Mark Suster, managing partner of Upfront Ventures, the company fell in love with the concept of Heroic Story since they are producing regular online RPG experiences for massive, worldwide audiences enthusiastic about the tabletop RPG genre.
