On 16 September 2019, it is reported that HTC will add Bitcoin Cash support to the Exodus 1 Blockchain Smartphone.
This collaboration is said to be mutually beneficial venture that seeks to drive more traffic to bitcoin.com as well as present Exodus 1 to the crypto community as a simple crypto-trading phone.
Exodus 1 software update will now contain a pre-loaded Bitocoin.com wallet, and Exodus 1 users will not need to download a BCH wallet from an app store anymore.
The partnership offers benefits to both HTC and bitcoin.com. BCH will benefit from Exodus 1 high-security features.
According to bitcoin.com's announcement, the secure built-in wallet is now capable of carrying out BCH transactions. Users can easily transact with BHC on their HTC phones without the fear of remote hacking.
Zion Vault, Exodus 1 key management software will sign off on all BCH transactions. Phil Chen, HTC'S Chief Decentralization Officer, said:
"The Zion Vault is happy to support BCH natively in hardware, so security goes hand-in-hand in the blockchain as an alternative to dominate payment rails and platforms."
Bitcoin.com will list Exodus 1 as well as the upcoming Exodus 1s on their online store. Exodus 1s, which is scheduled for launch later in 2019, will offer the same BCH support as its predecessor.
HTC and Bitcoin's partnership marks the start first step for future projects that both sides will be working together in. Bitcoin.com CEO Stefan Rust stated:
"There are so many synergies between Bitcoin.com and HTC. We are very excited to be on this incredible journey together."
Roger Ver, Bitcoin.com's Executive Chair supported this partnership by pointing out:
"HTC will enable BCH to be used as a peer-to-peer electronic cash for all the Exodus users around the world."
Exodus 1 is HTC first blockchain phone that features blockchain technology's quality of design and provides excellent performance. Apart from its high security, features of its Social Key Recovery, Exodus 1 contain a secure enclave. The enclave will be a locked area on the phone that is protected from the phone's Android OS. That's the part that will be responsible for storing all your digital data such as keys to your crypto, or non-fungible tokens.
