Madonna and Beeple Collaborate on NFT Project About Motherhood
Celebrating Motherhood in Different Forms
On Monday, Madonna released her own NFT series, titled “Mother of Creation” which showcases three distinct motherhood-inspired facets of life after a yearlong collaboration with Beeple.
The first NFT is named “Mother of Nature” and focuses on plant life. The second NFT is called “Mother of Evolution'' and focuses on animal life and the third “Mother of Technology” focuses on technological advances.
All the three videos give audiences a full frontal view of Madonna’s avatar giving birth to different organisms from a hospital bed, a rusted vehicle, and a forest floor.
“This is such an absolute, insane honor. I don’t do many collaborations. This is probably the only one I will do for a very long time,” Beeple told New York Times. He is known for selling an NFT last year at Christie’s for $69 million.
Proceeds from the NFTs Will be Donated to Charities
According to the project’s website, the proceeds from the NFT sale will be donated to three charities namely, The Voices of Children Foundation, The City of Joy, and Black Mama’s Bail Out. The charities are focused mainly on helping Ukrainian children, female survivors of violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and incarcerated black women.
Crypto platform MoonPay also will be donating $300,000 as a part of the NFT launch with $100,000 to each charity.
