Gaia-X is a pan-European cross-sector project for a more open and democratic data infrastructure that unites more than 300 businesses and organizations, including well-known brand names from the industry like Bosch, Continental, and Airbus. It serves as an alternative to centralized platforms. The moveID consortium aims at developing practical use cases for blockchain technology in mobility and driving creative solutions for decentralized data sharing. Ocean Protocol will participate by offering essential technical components through BigchainDB that are required to create the foundation for moveID.
Compute-to-data, data pricing mechanisms, and other crucial elements of Ocean's decentralized data marketplace technology are being used to forge a system architecture that guarantees a smooth exchange of information between service providers and users of mobility applications. By integrating the Ocean tech stack into the moveID infrastructure, deltaDAO will support the effort.
In May, Ocean Protocol launched version 4 of its network, which uses NFT and makes the system more equitable in terms of staking and monetization. Version 3, released in late 2020, allowed access to certain data sets, such as the supply-chain data of a large firm, using Ethereum-based "data tokens" that would permit the data to be shared and profitable in decentralized data marketplaces. NFTs are a more adaptable method of handling data ownership as it develops into a yield-bearing asset in version 4 of the protocol.
