"Gucci Gang" rapper
Lil Pump is launching his own social token called
PumpCoin on Fyooz, a platform that turns public figures into tradable tokens. A digital work of art will also be listed as an NFT modeled after PumpCoin through Fyooz’s partnership with digital art marketplace Nifty. As per the
announcement, holders of PumpCoin will get the
opportunity to play Call of Duty or
NBA 2k21 live and 1:1 with the rapper himself.
Lil Pump to Launch PumpCoin Social Token
PumpCoin reportedly will be available everywhere except the United States, due to regulations under the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The token is scheduled for release by early 2021.
The rapper is best known for his song "Gucci Gang" and has since then had more than a billion YouTube views, earning multi-platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
CEO of Fyooz, Remo Prinz, comments on the need for social tokens in the music industry:
“Artists aren’t able to play live events, so there’s a huge need for artists and fans to find new ways to connect. Fyooz connects artists directly to their fans by giving them exclusive experiences they can’t get anywhere else. The tokenization process takes literally minutes and fans in many corners of the world can buy a token at the click of a button.”
Last month, Fyooz launched a similar kind of token sale for Grammy-nominated rapper Lil Yachty bringing nearly $400,000 in YachtyCoins through an ICO.
Lil Pump's Merch Store Accepts BTC Payments
Lil Pump launching his own social token is not the first time the rapper has delved into the world of cryptocurrency. Last year, Lil Pump's online merchandise store started accepting payment in Bitcoin.
Other rappers also have started taking notice in the world of cryptocurrencies. For Instance, just yesterday, Grammy-nominated rapper Megan Thee Stallion announced on giving out $1 million in Bitcoin through Twitter.
