According to Bitcoin Maximalist Michael Saylor, Bitcoin's Lightning Network is the essential technological advancement right now. In addition to announcing that MicroStrategy is in the early stages of constructing its Lightning network architecture, Saylor commented on his speech at a conference dedicated to Bitcoin.

He suggested that Lightning will make it possible for developers to create highly scalable decentralized applications (DApps) and scale BTC for billions of users at a fraction of the cost. Discussing Microstrategy's latest initiative, he added,

"MicroStrategy has got some R&D projects going on right now where we're working on enterprise applications of Lightning: enterprise Lightning wallet, enterprise Lightning servers, enterprise authentication."

The Saylor-led company also plans to set the stage for the rapid release of "Lightning wallets for 10 million clients." He added that the benefits of LN extended beyond low-cost transactions or scaling up Bitcoin for a billion users.

Saylor Resigned As CEO

Saylor is a well-known Bitcoin bull who is known all over the world. Saylor announced that they would be leaving their position as CEO of MicroStrategy, following in the footsteps of Jack Dorsey, the former CEO of Twitter, and others. His most recent activity seems to align with his goals as the company's executive chairman.
