Amid continuous sanctions by the western countries on Russia, Elon Musk, tech billionaire and founder of aerospace manufacturer SpaceX who agreed to provide Starlink satellite service to Ukraine, has claimed that he is being told by the government to block Russian news sources.
He clarified that it’s not the Ukrainian government who wants such requests but at the same time did not clarify who it was.
Starlink is operated by SpaceX the aerospace manufacturer and provider of space transportation services founded and managed by Musk. Starlink’s low-orbit satellites provide high-speed broadband internet across the globe.
Amid continuous attacks by Russia, Ukraine on Monday received Starlink satellite internet terminals from Elon Musk's SpaceX. Taking to Twitter, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, shared a photograph of a truck loaded with the terminals thanking the billionaire.
The move came after the minister urged Musk to provide Starlink stations in war-hit Ukraine where internet services were disrupted following military operations by Russia.
