Major e-retailer company Newegg has announced that its customers can now shop using Dogecoin (DOGE) cryptocurrency for making purchases on the platform via BitPay. Back in 2014, Newegg was one of the major retailers in the world to accept Bitcoin as a payment method.
Dogecoin is only the second cryptocurrency to be accepted by the Los Angeles-based company. Similarly, Newegg is among the first e-retail company to enable customers to pay with Dogecoin while shopping online.
The 20-year-old company has a global presence, operating in North America, as well as in Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Prior to the official announcement, the company’s Twitter profile hinted at accepting the Shiba-Inu-based cryptocurrency on the social media platform. Taking the best on the meme nature of Dogecoin, Newegg also tweeted out to Elon Musk, a DOGE supporter asking if he would buy on the platform.
Recently, Mark Cuban's Dallas Mavericks’ announced that the NBA team will allow people to pay Dogecoin (DOGE) to buy tickets and merchandise, through a similar partnership with BitPay.
