Mexican Senator, Indira Kempis, shared a photo of a newly built ATM on Twitter, claiming that the installation signifies the beginning of financial inclusion, independence, and financial education in Mexico, among other things.

The Senator has been an outspoken advocate of Bitcoin and the technological advancements that have evolved from the cryptocurrency. Earlier this year, she announced plans to begin the process of making bitcoin official money in Mexico and transforming the country into a crypto-friendly environment by presenting the proposed Bitcoin Legal Tender Bill and seeking approval from the Senate for its implementation throughout the country.

Specifically, Kempis claimed that the government must follow in the footsteps of El Salvador in declaring Bitcoin legal money else it would be impossible for the authorities to take action. The Senator also feels that virtual assets have the potential to alleviate the difficulties associated with financial marginalization and the rise in the number of underserved people in the nation.
