Beeple Builds A Physical Studio Space To Bring NFTs Into The Real World
Mike "Beeple" Winkelmann garnered media attention last year with his record-breaking $69.3 million sale of NFT artwork at a Christie's auction. After that, he made appearances on "The Tonight Show," the cover of Time magazine, and other shows. He now hopes to introduce the NFT universe to even more individuals by constructing a physical studio where exhibitions would take place.
Beeple stated that NFT developers must "discover innovative ways" to draw in customers who may be aware of NFTs but unsure how they operate. An NFT is a blockchain token that can represent ownership in real-world and digital assets, such as collectibles and digital artwork.
He added that the video reflects the first half of construction and that the second half is almost finished, but he did not provide a date for when the studio would open or start holding events. Beeple first rose to fame as a digital artist who shared new artwork daily and as a graphic designer whose concert posters were utilized by artists such as Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, and Eminem.
In late 2020, as the NFT market grew, Beeple began to sell his works and swiftly set records. In November of last year, Beeple followed it up with the $28.9 million sale of "Human One," a sculpture that was a physical/digital hybrid with an NFT component. Beeple has emphasized a real-world component with every one of his digital sales since entering the NFT industry.
