The list of inducted startups includes a mass multiplayer online game with a theme of Cannabis and a loan platform for the reverse auction. Total 140 startups had applied for their entry into the program for the Spring 2020 cohort among which only 12% were successful.
Although 17 premier startups have been selected, one of the most innovative one among all is Nugabase’s farming multiplayer online game that is Flowerpatch and it has already gained over 1,000 users. The developers have stated that in this game you are going to have a completely different experience of farming games as the users will have to gain ‘flower cards’ and can get real Cannabis as rewards.
There is another startup named Calypso which has been introduced to the program. This one is a platform for reverse auction which will help the users to create a marketplace in the loan market and it will allow lenders to easily bid on the loan proposals which have been prepared by the borrowers.
Few other startups are also there which have been included in Xcelerator. One is Anterra which helps create a special platform for non-fungible tokens that basically focuses on the engagement between different sports organizations, their fans and eSports platforms. Another one is Finoa which is a platform for digital asset custody and payments. Snowball Money is also among the selected startups which are for the creation of investment automation software.
It has not been much time since the launch of the first cohort of Blockchain accelerator by UC Berkeley that is in January 2019 and already there is one blockchain analytics firm that is Anchain which has secured $4.3 million in a fundraising round which was led by Susquehanna International Group and Amino Capital.
