Binance, the world's finest cryptocurrency exchange platform, has announced that it will begin selling NFT tickets for S.S. Lazio matches during the 2022/23 season. Fans will just use their non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to attend Rome's renowned Stadio Olimpico and witness their favorite team's home matches.
Aside from entrance to the stadium, ticket holders will receive other benefits, including 10% off any goods sold in the Lazio shop and 20% off tickets for the club's Europa League matches, which are arranged annually by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
Apart from the benefits, fans who buy online tickets will also have the opportunity to win fan tokens and enjoy access to a wide range of unique events. To purchase a ticket, Lazio fans must first register an account with Binance and then visit the Binance Fan Token Platform.
According to the digital asset exchange, the NFT tickets will assist in resolving several well-known flaws with the existing ticket distribution method. Non-fungible tokens, for example, enable the avoidance of multiple ticketing, which occurs when a single seat at a stadium is sold twice, as well as the prevention of ticket counterfeiting and difficulties associated with loss or damage.
Binance is the primary shirt sponsor for Lazio. Last November, a €30 million ($30.5 million) sponsorship contract was revealed. The two parties established a deal for a 'two-year initial phase' with the possibility of extending it for the third year.
The NFT ticketing plan comes after Binance announced an exclusive, multi-year NFT relationship with Portuguese soccer sensation Cristiano Ronaldo in June. The famed player intends to produce additional NFT sets to allow fans to "possess an iconic symbol of sports history."
