Ukraine Has Raised Over $60M in Crypto Donations

The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collection has recently announced donating $1 million to Ukraine’s official Ethereum wallet address.

On March 8, the BAYC team's Twitter account shared the Etherscan transaction link showing the transaction amount of 388.999 ETH worth almost $1 million containing a BAYC ecosystem NFT.

The BAYC donation to Ukraine comes just a week after an anonymous user donated a CryptoPunks NFT worth $200,000 at the time to the country’s official wallet.

Ukraine Has Raised Over $60M in Crypto Donations

Since Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24, more than 102,000 crypto asset donations, totaling $60.5 million, have gone to the Ukrainian government and Come Back Alive, an NGO providing support to the military, according to data from blockchain analytics firm Elliptic.

On Friday, Alex Bornyakov, deputy minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine revealed that the country has already spent $15 million of the crypto donations on military supplies, including bulletproof vests that were delivered the same day.
