Recently, the blockchain firm organised a Cardano virtual summit Proof of Stake edition, in which the Chief Technical Officer at IOHK Jerry Fragiskatos notified about their new partnership with Beefchain.
The aim of this partnership is to provide the food traceability solution to ranch owners by tracing beef from farm to table.
Beefchain is a company based in Wyoming, which offers traceability solution to the ranchers so that they could deal with the problems related to food security.
People who were the part of this summit are Tyler Lyndholm, the Chief Ranch Operations (CRO) for Beefchain; the CEO, CTO and the Atala Trace product & Partnership manager for IOHK.
Beefchain is the first blockchain-based company around the world, which has got approval from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the assurance of its cattle produce.
During the summit, Tyler Lyndholm said, “As regards food traceability, food safety is always of great concern, and various governments across the world have made significant moves to tackle the issue.” He further stated that a few years ago, Walmart started using the blockchain technology to secure the traceability of Roman lettuce and other leafy green vegetables.
The president and CEO of Beefchain, while expressing his gratitude towards Cardano and IOHK said that he and his team are very thankful to them as they are offering their services to the Beefchain.
Since the time, Beefchain has been established, its main aim is to resolve the issues that are affecting the ranching community. The blockchain technology of Cardano would help the company in resolving the issues like intermediaries, frauds and regulatory problem.
The CEO further has mentioned that only blockchain technology could help in storing and sharing data with farmers and customers.
