Andreas Pletscher comes to the Foundation from PwC, where he worked as a technological director, managing complex operational and IT transformation projects for over 25 years in the financial services industry. In his most recent role, he led a large transformation project for a crypto services provider in Switzerland.
On the other hand, Dr. Nicolas Jacquemart has extensive legal experience and will contribute to the Foundation's leadership team as its Chief Legal Officer. Before joining the Foundation, he worked on the fintech desk at Switzerland's financial market supervisory authority, FINMA, and previously held roles at prominent law firms in the country.
Dr. Jacquemart holds a PhD in law from the University of Zurich, where he studied the intersection of blockchain technology and financial market regulation.
Cardano Foundation has been trying to expand its operations. Over the last year, the company has announced a three-year arrangement with the University of Zurich Blockchain Center to expand blockchain research, joined the Linux Foundation to ramp up blockchain's adoption as a technology and partnered with the National Wine Agency of Georgia to ensure the quality and authenticity of Georgian wine.
The latest appointments can also be seen as an attempt by the company to speed up its operations.
