To enhance Georgia's standing as a premier wine producer abroad, Cardano teams up with the Bolnisi Winemakers Association, the National Wine Agency of Georgia, and Scantrust to create a flexible, open track and trace solution. Mel McCann, Vice President of Engineering, Cardano Foundation, said,
"The Cardano Foundation prides itself on technical integration initiatives that foster the development of solutions for companies and systems of all kinds. This collaboration will develop a creative, cost-effective, and flexible certification and traceability system."
The alliance will benefit individual vineyards by creating a common, scalable platform affordable for winemakers and improves customer involvement.
Up to 100,000 bottles of wine harvested in the fall of 2022 and bottled in the spring of 2023 will be present. The bottles will include an eye-catching label with a secure and unique QR code. Customers can do this to confirm the products' authenticity and discover more about their history. The National Wine Agency will use the Cardano blockchain to create open, verifiable records from current wine certification data on wine intended for export markets.
