"I'm thrilled to be taking the next step in my career and joining Algorand Foundation as CTO. I've had a wonderful time contributing to building Cardano at IOHK. We are all building the future of finance," Woods wrote in a statement.
Responding to this, Hoskinson stated that he had fun working with Woods as IOG CTO while Duncan Coutts was on paternity leave. He further added that he is excited to see Woods onboarded as Algorand's CTO and that the development may result in future collaborations between the IOG and Algorand Foundation.
"Working with John while he was standing in for Duncan during his paternity leave was fun. I'm delighted to see John step up as a CTO, and it opens up many great opportunities for future collaboration and research. Algorand is an excellent project with exceptional people," Hoskinson said.
Woods' appointment as Algorand's CTO will see him be in charge of technical partnerships, infrastructure development, education, developer tooling, and engagement.
"Woods will focus in particular on removing friction from the developer UX, clarifying and improving the developer education journey, and adding tools and resources for building applications on Algorand," Algorand said in a statement yesterday.
