Casa Releases New Bitcoin Wallet Centred on Privacy

Casa
Casa, a crypto custody firm which is based in New York has recently released its new self-custody Bitcoin wallet. This wallet is majorly focused on privacy as it will help the users to keep a check on their private keys. This was announced by the firm through a blog post on June 13 where it has been mentioned that this wallet has been created through the investment by Mantis VC. As the major concern of this wallet is privacy, it does not ask the users about any of their personal information other than their first name and email address.

Casa users do not need to set up an account

Generally, in all the digital wallets, it is kind of mandatory that the users will have to set up their account in order to use the services. However, this is not the case with Casa as it has been mentioned by the firm that the users will not have to set up their account with seed phrase which is required in most of the software wallets. The firm has specified that the users create a key which they can easily store on their respective devices. It will then create an encrypted backup which the users will be able to retrieve anytime they want through two-factor authentication.

Key Health to keep a check on private keys

Casa also provides a feature to its wallet users named ‘Key Health’ which will help the users to keep a check on their private keys. Through this, they will also be able to know whether their wallet is backed up or not and will also let them know about the authentication of the signatures. Back in September 2019, the firm also released its mobile wallet app, Sats which is available for both Android and iOS users. This app was a non-custodial wallet app by Casa which could be used even without BTC lightning node.
