Chainsmokers Share Album Royalties With Fans via NFTs

Chainsmokers NFTs
Electronic music duo The Chainsmokers have announced the release of their new album "So Far So Good," which will include a drop of 5,000 NFTs that will let fans share in 1% of the royalties.

Chainsmokers Partners With Royal Web3 Platform

In a partnership with Web3 music investment platform Royal, The Chainsmokers will become the first major label artists to share royalties for an entire album for free.

This means that their cut of all secondary sales will go to every songwriter on the album. In addition, they have also announced the release of 5,000 NFTs where holders will share 1% of streaming royalty.

Besides having partial ownership, holders of The Chainsmokers NFTs will gain access to exclusive content and other benefits. For instance, Gold Tier NFT holders will get 0.0002% of streaming royalties.

They will also gain access to the only Discord channel hosted by the duo themselves. They will also get 2 VIP tickets to select headlining Chainsmokers’ shows, which includes a meet-and-greet opportunity.

Timings for the NFT Release

At 3 PM PT on Tuesday, May 17th, 4,000 of the tokens will become available reserved for the aforementioned VIP list, and at 5 PM PT, 700 more tokens will roll out both for VIPs and “general access.”

The Chainsmokers are reserving the remaining 300 tokens for “friends, family, and fans so they can share in the community.”
