Tsinghua University is a highly rated institution. China's first metaverse culture laboratory was established to encourage the study and growth of the country's developing metaverse environment. The new lab was established between Tsinghua University's School of Journalism and Communications and Chinese Online (COL), a mainland Chinese digital publishing enterprise. The event was led in person by Xiang Botao, deputy secretary of the Tsinghua University party committee, and Tong Zhilei, chairman and president of Chinese Online Group, with virtual anchors hosting in the metaverse.
