The Ministry of Education of China has given permission to Chengdu University of Information Technology (CUIT) to <a href="https://www.jinse.com/lives/151238.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">launch</a> an undergraduate blockchain program for the students. It would be the country’s first undergraduate degree for blockchain.
<h2>Students To Get Trained </h2>
As per the report, the interested students would not have to wait much for enrolling themselves, as the university has been planning to start the admission this year only.

The major would train blockchain the students so that they could meet the needs of the blockchain industry.

The students would be trained with skills in the blockchain system design, project management and implementation.

According to the report, blockchain is highly popular in <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/crypto/chinas-blockchain-development-way-ahead-of-others/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">China</a>, and now the government has been planning to introduce it (Blockchain) in the colleges so that the students could get more knowledge about it. Earlier, while approving the blockchain shift, the president of China, Xi Jinping, stated that the country should explore in the area of blockchain.

<h2>Most Blockchain Industries Are In China</h2>
The report further mentioned that most of the blockchain industries in the world belong to China. Many other provinces in China have also been planning to turn to the blockchain. Recently, Shangdong Province has announced to start provincial key laboratories and among them, two laboratories would be using <a href="https://www.cryptoknowmics.com/crypto/huobi-announces-the-launch-of-its-public-blockchain-testnet/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blockchain</a>.

There have been other universities around the world, that are providing courses related to blockchain. Apart from CUIT, University of Edinborough, Stanford University and the University of California also provide a cryptocurrency course to the students.

Recently, Jerry Cuomo, the vice-president of blockchain technologies in IBM, has said that the engineers who have knowledge about blockchain could demand salary above $250,000. He further said, “Demand is exceeding supply, so we are seeing shortages. It is up there with the cloud and artificial intelligence as a really hot area”.
