Often known as the 'Indian Tiktok,' Chingari redefines content production to integrate its millions of daily users to the Solana blockchain.
Launched in 2018, the app has grown to over 35 million monthly active users to become the most popular mobile application in the country on the Google Play store, following the demise of TikTok, which was banned by the country a couple of years ago.
Commenting on the development, Sumit Ghosh, CEO and Co-founder of Chingari stated:
“Existing and new users will be able to Tip other artists, raise their profile, obtain governance powers, and utilise various other app features. As a result, we're moving closer to being a project with the most on-chain users. We're really thrilled to debut Chingari's in-app wallet and provide customers with a redesigned app that's jam-packed with features.”
In April 2021, Chingari raised a $13 million corporate round, a $19 million Series A led by Galaxy Digital and Republic Crypto on Oct 8, and a $40 million initial coin offering on Nov.4, concluded by a $13.37 million Series A last month.
Earlier last week, the platform's native $GARI token got listed on several exchanges including FTX, Kucoin, Huobi, Gate.io, OKEx, and MEXC Global. Just a day after its launch, $GARI trade volumes surpassed $100 million.
