The board appointed Chief Technology Officer Paul Gosker and Chief Mining Officer Thomas Heller as temporary co-presidents and CEOs; a search for a permanent replacement is going on.
According to the statement, "Compass Mining was established to make mining simple and available."
"The corporation is aware that numerous obstacles and disappointments have hindered achieving that goal. The company entirely focused on restoring the trust of its stakeholders and the community through this restructure and fulfilling its purpose to offer best-in-class service to miners of all sizes."
The resignations occurred soon after claims that CMP neglected to make utility payments at a Dynamics Mining-owned operation in Maine surfaced.
Compass now claims that it is concentrating on restructuring to win back the trust of its community and stakeholders. In addition, the Compass Mining Board of Directors announced that interim Co-Presidents and CEOs, effective right away, would be Chief Technology Officer Paul Gosker and Chief Mining Officer Thomas Heller.
