Crypto Community Donates 0.7 BTC to Phishing Scam Victim

The crypto community has come out in support of a phishing scam victim who lost his life savings. The crypto community started supporting the victim of the phishing scam through donations. The community has donated 0.7 BTC to the victim, the victim has lost 12 BTC which he collected in the past seven years.

Crypto community expressed its concerns

After the recent tweet by Savics about losing all of his savings, several prominent members of the crypto community have also expressed their concerns for him including the co-founder of Binance, ShapeShift CEO and many more. One crypto users have responded back to the Tweet of Savics by expressing his desire to donate money to Savic's account. After this tweet, it was reported that Savics has received around 0.709 Bitcoin which would cost around $6,650 at the current price. However, he has pledged that he will return all the donated funds which he received from various people of the crypto community.

Whether there is zero security in Bitcoin

As the crypto community has been donating BTC to Savics wallet in order to support him, one of the prominent crypto critics, Nouriel Roubini labelled Bitcoin as Shitcoin. He claims that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies hold zero security while comparing it with a scam related to any bank account. Over the past few months, it has been noticed that a lot of crypto phishing scams take place through Google’s chrome. This is because a huge number of fake ledger extensions have been reported on Chrome from the past several months. Back in March 2020, it was noticed that one crypto scam extension has stolen 1.4 million XRP which was worth around $269,000.
