The first-ever synchronized sound cartoon, Disney’s ‘Steamboat Willie’, is dropping as an NFT collection on VeVe NFT platform, the company announced yesterday. Starring Disney’s beloved, Mickey Mouse, the iconic cartoon won public admiration and made an impression across New York City, immediately promoting Mickey Mouse as the world-famous character.
Disney went on to release its new set of NFTs back in October after the entertainment company had a huge success with Marvel NFT release following a partnership with NFT platform VeVe. The NFT platform not only acted as a storefront for the collectibles but also as a platform where fans can showcase their collections.
Subsequently, Disney and its NFT partner VeVe started unrolling Star Wars and The Simpsons NFTs leading up to Disney+ Day last month. Now, they have taken to launching everyone’s favorite 'Mickey Mouse' as NFT collectibles.
The first series titled ‘Steamboat Willie’ features a black and white Mickey Mouse standing on a steamboat deck. The latest release is open to the public on Wednesday, December 22 at 12PM PT on the VeVe app for both iOS and Android.
