An Ethereum whale just swooped up 271 trillion Shiba Inu (SHIB) coins worth $6.08 million in a single transaction, causing Shiba Inu's value to rise by 2.5 percent over the past 24 hours.

According to a tweet posted by WhaleStats, a crypto tracker that keeps a close eye on the wallets held by the richest Ethereum whales, someone just bought 271,370,420,624 $SHIB for about $6.08 million over the past nine hours.

 

Other than Shib, the whale's investment portfolio mainly comprises $197 million worth USD Coin (USDC) coins and $18 million worth of Tether (USDT). The total investment portfolio of the wallet currently amounts to $218,469,791 million.

Whales are Increasingly Buying SHIB

According to WhaleStats which analyzes the top ETH whales, Shiba Inu (SHIB) is currently the second largest investment of these top holders just after Ethereum. Infact, these large buyers are actively buying the dog-themed cryptocurrency in recent times as the number of large transactions has risen by 11%, per IntoTheBlock data.

Just a day earlier, WhaleStats reported that an ETH whale bought 50 billion SHIB worth $1 million. This comes after a massive purchase of 49 billion Shiba Inu, worth $1 million, the prior day.
