In a recent blog post announcement, the team behind Optimism shared a list of criteria for its new OP token airdrop eligibility, which includes items as simple as being an Optimism user to more advanced criteria such as being a DAO voter or multisig signer.
The section dedicated to OP distribution shows that 19% will be airdropped to users, 5% in the first airdrop and 14% in future airdrops. Furthermore, 25% will be devoted to the ecosystem fund, 20% to retroactive goods funding, 19% to core contributors, and the remaining 17% to investors.
Commenting on the announcement, Ethereum's co-founder Vitalik Buterin today tweeted that the Collective is "possibly the biggest attempt at non-token-holder-centric DAO governance so far."
