According to an official announcement, Socios.com has reached a multi-year fan engagement deal with Major League Soccer (MLS) and 26 of its teams, including major clubs such as the LA Galaxy, Seattle Sounders FC, and Atlanta United.
The agreement also enables Socios.com and MLS to work together on new fan engagement products in the years ahead. However, unlike with other partnerships, the recent deal with MLS does not currently include a fan token component.
"At Major League Soccer, our Emerging Ventures team is always looking for ways to apply the latest technology to provide North America's youngest and most tech-savvy fans with new opportunities to be connected in a significant way to our players and clubs," Chris Schlosser, Major League Soccer's SVP of Emerging Ventures, said in the announcement release.
As of yet, Socios has now partnered with over 125 sports teams across eight international sports leagues.
The platform has also launched 50 fan tokens on its Chiliz Chain, a blockchain platform forked from Ethereum. Infact, major European soccer giants like FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus have even launched their own fan tokens through Socios.
