In a report titled ‘Bitcoin User Adoption’, Blockware Solutions predicted that the global Bitcoin adoption is likely to hit 10% of the world’s population by the year 2030. Blockware said it arrived at this forecast by applying the historic S-Curve adoption pattern of technology and on-chain entity metrics.
Additionally, the firm examined historical adoption curves for nine past disruptive technologies and calculated the percentage of U.S. households that use them. This includes automobiles, electric power, smartphones, the internet, and social media, along with the growth rate of Bitcoin adoption since 2009. Of those metrics, the company calculated a weighted average-60%, denoting 20% to each for- Internet, Smartphones, and Social Media. Based on a metric called Cumulative Sum of Net Entities Growth and Bitcoin’s, the firm predicted, “we forecast that global Bitcoin adoption will break past 10% in the year 2030.”
Lastly, the report stressed that the model used to predict the rate of adoption was only conceptual at this stage, adding it is neither meant to be used as investment advice nor a short-term trading tool. The report was reviewed by a team consisting of analysts from sectors such as cryptocurrency, social media, mining, equity, and fintech among others.
