Global Esports Federation Set-Ups Metaverse Council

Global Esports Federation Metaverse
The Global Esports Federation has launched a metaverse council to "work on defining tangible metaverse development projects for our global community" to become formally recognised as the governing organisation for the esports ecosystem. Esports is a popular gaming branch in which players compete online for unique prizes. The GEF Metaverse Council was formed to harness practical advancements in the developing reality and make them beneficial to the council's members. Blockchain professionals, NFT developers, and social media influencers will make up the council. The GEF's CEO, Paul J. Foster, stated,
"We've established the GEF Metaverse Council to cultivate ideas, voice, and shape to our metaverse reality; and to access the boundless prospects for our entire #worldconnected community," says the statement.

The Council

The council will be chaired by Hugo Philion, CEO of Flare, a blockchain interoperability project. Flare claims to provide a "scaling solution for smart contract networks without relying on economic safety mechanisms," according to its whitepaper.

Given his capacity to deal with cross-chain issues rather than being a single chain expert, Philion's status as chair should give the council some gravitas. Philion remarked,

"Esports presents boundless potential and a world of opportunities for blockchain applications."

The metaverse council of the Global Esports Federation (GEF) is off to a great start, with several significant people in the industry on board. Oxskellymode, NFT influencer and co-founder of Enigma Ventures; Sabertooth, director of Tiger Vision Global Pty Ltd and founder of the Non-Fungible Token (NFT) project Attack Tigers!; Melty Tanti, founder and creative director of Play & Earn (P&E) metaverse project Jambo Mambo; and MingWeiRocks, one of Asia's top TikTok creators with over 22 million followers, are among the new organization.
