Hackers Shift $41M in BNB and MATIC: CertiK

BNB and Matic
According to blockchain security firm CertiK, the hackers responsible for the $41 million hack at cryptocurrency casino Stake have moved another $328,000 million worth of Polygon (MATIC) and Binance Coin (BNB) tokens since the Sept. 4 exploit. The most recent transfer involved 300 BNB tokens that were worth approximately $61,500 to an externally owned address “0x695...” and were then bridged to the Avalanche blockchain on Sept. 11 at 4:09 pm UTC. UTC, an additional 520,000 MATIC tokens worth more than $266,000 were transferred to Avalanche.

Hackers take $41 million from Stake as it nears $1 billion

The Lazarus Group of North Korea, according to the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, was responsible for the heist. The industry's malicious actors have taken the cost of cryptocurrency hacks and scams to well over $1 billion in 2023, taking $41 million from Stake. CertiK recently announced the figure to be $997 million toward the finish of August, however a few assaults over the most recent fourteen days will drive the figure off the $1 billion imprint.

Pepe (PEPE) coin's withdrawal, which cost investors $13.2 million, Exactly Protocol's $7.3 million exploit, and a Balancer security vulnerability that was exposed caused $2.1 million in damage are other recent incidents.
