The Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx) has been gearing up to launch a pilot digital asset trading platform - Diamond. A popular media house shared the announcement on Twitter.

How Will Diamond Transform the Market?

The digital asset trading platform, Diamond will consist of a set of digital asset categories, and will soon become a one-stop platform for data, trading, settlement, management of wallet, and much more. 

The stock exchange has estimated that the total market value of digital assets is touching the $3 Trillion mark. The great potential observed in the market predicts the market value predicts a spike that will raise the value to $100 Trillion in 10 years. 

What Do The Developer Have To Say?

The Co-Head of Markets at HKEx, Su Yingying points out that three elements have been fetching the attention of the market. These include environmental, social, and corporate governance investments. Diamond ensures that these three products (ESG) are covered in Phase I. 

Su Yingying also mentions the platform’s infrastructure and other plans of using smart contracts, blockchain, cloud computing, etc to help conduct open transactions and operations.
