KPMG Canada just brought its first non-fungible token from the World of Women (WoW) NFT collection. The NFT Woman #2681, was purchased on Feb. 13 for 25 ETH before being transferred to a separate wallet.
In addition, the company also registered its wallet address as kpmgca.eth with Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domain name.
Commenting on the development, Benjie Thomas, KPMG Canada’s Managing Partner for Advisory Services, said:
“NFTs unlock a new channel for organizations to engage with their customers, while also underpinning innovation through the secure digitization of assets. This acquisition reflects our belief not only in the continued growth of NFTS, but in the value of [World of Women] and its mission.”
KPMG isn’t the first corporate entity to jump on the NFT bandwagon. Earlier last year, payment giant Visa bought a CryptoPunk for $150,000. The floor price for the CryptoPunks collection currently sits at $193,000.
Since its launch, World of Women (WoW) has seen a meteoric rise to the top of blue-chip NFTs with a current floor price of 8.5 ETH worth about $24,000 on OpenSea.
The project received mainstream recognition from actress Reese Witherspoon, whose media company Hello Sunshine partnered with the NFT project in February.
