A renowned law firm in the United Kingdom, 'gunnercooke' has begun taking payments in major cryptocurrencies for legal and professional services. The law firm based out of London, gunnercooke, accepts major crypto assets like Bitcoin ($BTC) and Ethereum ($ETH).

The recent announcement by gunnercooke states that the leading firm is now accepting cryptocurrency payment through a cryptocurrency exchange platform 'coinpass.' Coinpass is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). It has added Dogecoin ($DOGE), Cardano ($ADA), Tezos ($XTZ), $EOS, and Uniswap ($UNI) to its platform last year.

The announcement entails that the law firm has a client base of about '100 cryptocurrency developers, platforms, and exchanges,' and the crypto-staking business, Attestant was the first to pay gunnercooke for its legal cryptocurrency consultation services.

Attestant is a firm that is used to verify cryptocurrency transactions and paid gunnercooke for legal consultancy services using Ethereum. Naseer Patel, the finance director of gunnercooke boasts about being one of the few US law firms that allow for crypto-asset payments.

“We are proud to be at the forefront of innovation in the UK. We will now be able to work with a wider variety of clients across different jurisdictions, plus offer our partners the flexibility to be paid securely in the way they choose.”

The announcement further continues about how crypto assets are being accepted in a growing number of industries. Financial Services & Fintech Partner, James Bernie remarks the acceptance of crypto assets payments demonstrates the rising understanding and commitment towards the growing crypto community.

Bernie expects to see a 'gradual transition towards cryptocurrency becoming increasingly accepted as a means of payment generally,' in the next few decades. Following the announcement, the CEO at Coinpass, Jeff Hancock is quoted saying,

“The team at coinpass is proud to be gunnercooke’s crypto exchange partner. We’re especially excited to be partnered with an organization that has ambitions to push blockchain and crypto forward in the UK.”

After the news of crypto assets being accepted as payment in law firms, Dubai is in the news for starting a cryptocurrency-based restaurant that allows payments in major crypto-assets for Dogecoin-themed food. The Dubai restaurant is virtual and offers delivery to your real home.
