The long-awaited MimbleWimble upgrade has been officially activated on Litecoin (LTC), allowing for privacy-oriented transactions on the network.

According to an official update from the team, MimbleWimble upgrade has been officially activated on the Litecoin network.

The MimbleWimble Litecoin update has been the cryptocurrency’s most hotly anticipated upgrade. The upgrade not only introduces new privacy features for LTC users but also offers the blockchain network key performance upgrades.

In addition to enabling confidential transactions on the Litecoin blockchain, the upgrade also removes unnecessary transaction data from the blocks through compression.

Litecoin's Price Remains Unchanged

The most highly anticipated upgrade since its inception, MimbleWimble will provide Litecoin users with better performance and privacy capabilities. This could potentially create more demand for the underlying cryptocurrency as it currently trades in tandem with larger cryptocurrencies.

At the time of writing, Litecoin (LTC) trades at $69.1 with a 37% loss over the past month and a 66.9% loss in one year. There also seems to be no reaction from market participants over the release of MimbleWimble.
