Monsta Infinite: The Axie-Like Play-to-Earn Game That's Set to Take Over

Monsta Infinite
A lot has been said about the play-to-earn games that have been making waves recently. I mean, what's not to be said? Games that are both fun and financially rewarding? I like the sound of that and I know you do too. One very popular play-to-earn game that has done really well for both themselves and their players is Axie Infinity. With an all-time-high volume of $1.453b and a total of 425,749 traders who've made 1.06 million transactions so far, Axie Infinity is definitely a success in my books. Because of this (its success) it obviously has admirers and many developers in the play-to-earn niche are definitely hoping their games can be as successful as Axie. This brings me to Monsta Infinite.

Monsta Infinite

Built on the Binance Smart Chain, Monsta Infinite is a play-to-earn game that is inspired by Axie Infinity. It is a decentralized gaming universe where players can earn tokens by playing the game either for leisure or competitively.‌ The initial plan was to fork Axie Infinity and imitate it in every aspect because developers of Monsta Infinite saw the potential of a lower entry cost Axie-like game. However, as the developers committed their time and efforts to the development and planning of Monsta Infinite, they realized that there are different problems rooted in every NFT game, and they decided to make a difference in the space.

I hear you asking how?

The developers behind Monsta Infinite hope to solve the following problems.

  • Pay-to-win issue — This is an almost normal problem veteran of MMORPG games face. Dedicated and better-skilled players losing the competition to players that are richer with less skill. Monsta Infinite has been built to stop this and it will close the large gap of disparity between poor and rich‌ players.
  • Absence of player hierarchy — Games like Monsta Infinite have been a huge success because they provide enjoyment to different hierarchies of players. Players get to match against other players with the same skills as they have.
  • Overpopulated pets/characters — Monsta Infinite has a proper balancing mechanism that solves the issue of overpopulation and because of this, weaker pet's value does not crash and liquidity ‌ isn't tampered with.
  • While the developers have described their project as a cheaper alternative to Axie Infinity, the game isn’t finished yet. They plan to launch a test version of the game later this year.

    Monsta's Mission‌

The above-listed problems are what Monsta aims to solve by making the power of financing on the internet easier to understand and accessible to everyone. The belief is that through blockchain gaming, the push for easier, faster, and wider adoption of blockchain technology.

    Monsta's Gameplay

In Monsta Infinite there are little Monsta's. These creatures live in an area known as Shani and in a time before the dinosaurs. However, a catastrophic threat, Jilaka, aims to destroy the beautiful time Monstas are enjoying. It is why the little Monstas have summoned the Inception Monstas to save them. The Inception Monstas are the creatures that you can collect in the game, and players can earn a resource called Stamen Tellus through gameplay.

Cute creatures and earning tokens. This is where the comparison with Axie Infinity ends. Monsta Infinite combines match-3 puzzles with a turn-based card battle system. The developers however have created a competitive game out of this.

    Monsta token

MONI is the native token of the Monsta Infinite game. It is a governance token on the Binance Smart Chain. Holders of MONI can claim rewards by either playing the game, staking their tokens or by participating in key governance decisions on the ecosystem. Players can also earn MONI by playing various games in the Monsta Infinite universe and this suggests that the developers have a lot more planned out for the platform.

The presale for the MONI token will take place on September 8th, 2021 for the first 400 whitelisted members with a minimum contribution of 1BNB, and the price for the token has been set to $0.15 per MONI. The second round of presale will be held on September 15th for the remaining whitelisted members with a minimum contribution of 0.1BNB. This will end immediately upon reaching the hard cap. Any funds received once the hard cap has been reached will be refunded after the presale has finished. According to the official website, the Monsta Infinite token will also launch through the Binance Launchpad.

Players can earn Monsta tokens by:

    • Competing in PVP battles to be able to win leaderboard prizes.
    • Farming for in-game assets that are needed to clone Monsta. These can be sold on exchanges.
    • Cloning Monsta and selling them on the marketplace.
    • Investing in a land that can be used for virtual events in the open world.
    • Collecting and speculating on rare Monsta such as Legendary and Inception.
    • Whitelist information/instructions

Whitelisting will begin on the 22nd August 2021 at 12 pm UTC+0 and there is 27,000,000 $MONI set out for total allocation for the public presale. The event is on a First come first serve basis and the first 400 participants for presale 1.0 will be selected. The remaining participants that will be selected will be brought forward to presale 2.0. The exercise will be open until 27,000,000 $MONI has been sold out.

Participants can register for the whitelist by clicking the “whitelist” button on the official website and they'll be required to fill in a basic KYC, complete all the tasks, and voilà! their registration is done. Information like full name, age, email, BEP-20 wallet address, and selection of countries will need to be submitted in the KYC.

It is important to note that:

      • The address must be a non-custodial BEP-20 wallet address in a Metamask/ Trustwallet.
      • Participants must make sure the address filled in is the same as the one they’ll be using for the transactions in the presale.
      • Do not enter your exchange wallet address/using the deposit button.
