NBA to Launch 18,000 'Dynamic' Ethereum NFTs for Playoffs

NBA NFTs Ethereum

The National Basketball Association (NBA) will launch its upcoming collection of Ethereum NFTs called The Association which consist of 75 NFTs per player for all teams in the 2022 NBA playoffs totaling 18,000 NFTs.

Players will be assigned randomly and transparently using Chainlink (LINK) VRF so that everyone has a fair and equal chance of minting any player of the 16 playoff teams.

The NFTs, however, don’t remain static like the players. In the playoffs, each player’s traits will change based on his or her real-life performance. Similarly, the player’s NFT background and “frame” will change depending on how their team performs.

The NFTs will be free to mint, however, collectors need to pay for the cost of gas on Ethereum. After the presale minting begins, the NFT art will be revealed on Friday and will be visible on NFT marketplaces like OpenSea.

The NBA reserved some for holders of NBA Top Shot, during the mint process and limited others to a maximum of one per wallet.
