NFL Releases 'Virtual Ticket' NFTs for the 2022 Draft on Flow

NFL Releases 'Virtual Ticket' NFT
The NFL Draft in 2022 will be held on April 28-30, and the league is commemorating the occasion by releasing a new NFT collection with items inspired by each of the league's 32 teams.

The NFL Draft NFTs were released today on the league's own portal, with each team receiving 52 NFT collectibles. Each NFT is $52 and looks like a playing card. Instead of Polygon, the Ethereum sidechain scaling solution utilised for past NFL NFT drops, the NFTs are minted on the Flow network.

Although each NFT is referred to as a "virtual commemorative ticket" for the NFL Draft, it does not provide entry to the live event in Las Vegas.

 NFL Changed its Rules

The NFL recently revised its rules to allow clubs to sign blockchain sponsors and partners. At the same time, they are still barred from advertising specific cryptocurrencies or creating their own "fan tokens," which are tradable assets that reward holders with team-related privileges like voting on team decisions.

The Dallas Cowboys secured a sponsorship deal with Blockchain.com earlier this month. At the same time, 13 other clubs, including the Los Angeles Rams and New York Giants, signed marketing deals with fan token business Socios. At the moment, neither of these agreements includes a token fan component.
