Nike and RTFKT Enters the Metaverse With CryptoKicks Sneakers
RTFKT, the digital fashion and 3D creation studio, which Nike acquired in December, has revealed a collection of co-branded digital sneakers called Nike Cryptokicks, modeled after the Nike Dunk sneakers.
Nike’s CryptoKicks will be introduced with EVO X which is a collection of eight different skins, which let people customize the sneakers with various looks and designs. Also, these future sneakers come with skin vials that tend to change the skin color and boost the digital sneakers with different power.
The sneakers are available to people who own Rtfkt’s Mnlth, a mysterious digital box NFT that was airdropped, for free, to anyone who owned a Clone-X in February.
Already, owners of the RTFKT x Nike Dunk Genesis CryptoKicks NFTs are attempting to resell the Ethereum-based digital sneakers on secondary markets. On OpenSea, the sneakers start at a price of about 3 ETH, or over $8000, at the time of writing.
