Norton360 users will now be allowed to mine Ethereum using the antivirus tool, Norton Crypto launched recently by the cybersecurity firm NortonLifeLock. The tool will be allowing its customers to safely extract cryptocurrency through its Norton 360 product.

Norton Crypto by Norton360 Will Allow Users to Extract Ethereum

Select 360 users are going to be invited to join the early adopter program on Norton from June 3 for the extraction of Etheruem. In addition to this, the cybersecurity firm also has plans to open up the mining service to all of its customers in the coming months.

The firm laid an emphasis on its service and revealed that its service allows users to extract without the requirement of switching off their antivirus software.

Norton spoke to CNN Business and revealed that it plans to support extracting of other top cryptos that allow their members to get the highest reward for their computing capacity and stated:

“While the company will start slow, with a focus on helping customers safely mine Ethereum, NortonLifeLock is considering adding reputable cryptocurrencies in the future.”

Vincent Pilette, the NortonLifeLock chief product officer expressed pride in his company becoming the first cybersecurity company offering services that allow miners to:

“Safely and easily turn the idle time on their PCs into an opportunity to earn digital currency.”

Advanced Security Features to be Offered 

Norton addressed the issue of users taking a risk for acquiring cryptocurrency and said:

“For years, many coin miners have had to take risks in their quest for cryptocurrency, disabling their security in order to run coin mining and allowing unvetted code on their machines that could be skimming from their earnings or even planting ransomware.”

Norton states that the miners using their product are going to receive earnings into the cloud-based wallet of Norton, averting risks of the wallet being lost to a hard drive failure
