In 2019, Nova Labs, formerly Helium Inc., started offering an open-source, decentralized peer-to-peer network for Internet-of-Things (IoT) gadgets. It provided "hotspots," a word for plug-and-play gadgets that combine Helium's blockchain and the LoRaWAN protocol. The LoRaWAN IoT network uses a gateway bridge to transmit data from an IoT device to a conventional server over the air. Currently, there are more than 900,000 hotspots operational.
One to five gigabytes of data with unlimited talk time and text messaging, and unlimited texting, voice, and data are among the monthly plans that Helium Mobile will offer customers.
In addition to cooperating with an unnamed group of smartphone makers to develop devices that are effective at describing the cellular environment and yield more MOBILE tokens than conventional devices, Nova Labs is providing the service to clients who already own a mobile device. Nova Labs is upending conventional approaches to creating a nationwide cellular infrastructure that can serve vast regions with its decentralized operating architecture. In Q1 2023, Nova Labs will release the alpha version of Helium Mobile.
