According to a recent tweet posted by the @shibburn Twitter account which accumulates all SHIB burn data from etherscan on its website, over the past seven days, SHIB enthusiasts have burned a total of 2,604,802,620 of the meme-based cryptocurrency. It took the community 191 transactions to do that amount of SHIB.
Similarly, a total of 7.7 million SHIB tokens were shifted to dead addresses in the past 24 hours in six transactions while the biggest burn in 24 hours was of 290 million tokens being taken out of circulation in a single transaction.
Overall, a total of 410,308,350,345,615 Shiba Inu has been taken out of circulation forever from the initial supply of 1 quadrillion tokens. Whereas 39,657,610,091,180 of SHIB has been staked by holders on ShibaSwap. The current circulating supply of SHIB now stands at 550,034,039,563,204 tokens.
Shiba Inu experienced a surge of 14.27% over the week as the burning of Shiba Inu tokens started gaining momentum. At the time of writing, Shiba Inu’s price is currently trading at $0.00002643 up 7.2% for the day, according to data from CoinGecko.
