Paris Hilton Is Hosting a New Year’s Eve Party on Metaverse
Paris Hilton has reportedly created an island in the metaverse, dubbed ‘Paris World’ via "Roblox." Her virtual island replicates her Beverly Hills home and includes her dog mansion (her dogs' names are Crypto, Ethereum, and Ether) and the neon carnival wedding celebration she and her husband Carter Reum hosted earlier this year.
To celebrate the launch of Paris World, Hilton will host a party on New Year’s Eve, serving as a DJ, playing an electronic music set all across New Year’s Eve.
While the game is free, visitors can experience Paris World in her lifestyle, which includes renting a luxury sports car or a Sunray yacht as well as buying virtual clothing for a small fee.
"For me, the metaverse is somewhere that you can do everything you can do in real life in the digital world," Hilton told Reuters. "Not everybody gets to experience that, so that’s what we’ve been working together on over the past year—giving them all my inspirations of what I want in that world."
Hilton also boarded the NFT hype train earlier this year and sold three pieces called "Planet Paris" in collaboration with designer Blake Kathryn, bringing in a whopping nine-figure offer.
Hilton joins an array of celebrities and brands rushing to embrace the metaverse. For instance, fashion powerhouse Tommy Hilfiger recently launched a line of digital clothing for Roblox avatars. In November, Nike opened a virtual world called Nikeland where visitors can play dodgeball with friends, lace on a pair of virtual Air Force 1 sneakers among others. Similarly, Rappers Lil Nas X and Travis Scott have also held concerts last year for millions of virtual concertgoers.
